Pursuant to her study of business at PVCC, she continued her adult work experiences in the Records Management Department at the UVA Medical Center and later became a teller at Wachovia Bank in Charlottesville.Īngela was predeceased by her father, Tony William Harris sister, Barbara Harris and two brothers: Raymond and Charles Harris. She also served as a volunteer for the Albemarle Police Department in the Explorer Training Program. While a teenager, Angela was employed as a salesclerk in Charlottesville at Roses Department Store. She became an active member of the ZHBC Youth Choir and was one of the group's lead singers who became well known for her rendition of "Trouble in My Way." On August 8, 2001, Angela gave birth to her only child, Jaylyn Lachelle Harris, and with the guidance of her parents, the family made certain that this newest angel would also be raised and become active at Zion Hill. Johnson and became a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Keswick. She later attended Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) in Charlottesville where she studied Business.Īt the age of ten, Angela was baptized by the Rev. Anne Belfield, and was a 1995 graduate of Albemarle High School. ![]() She was educated in the Albemarle County and Charlottesville private and public-school systems and attended Stone Robinson Elementary School, St. Raised in Charlottesville, Angela was one of Harris' eight children - five girls and three boys. It was in this very same place on July 21, 2023, with her mother and devoted friend and fiancé, Derrick Cox at her bed, that "Angel" (the nickname given to her by her mother on the night that she was born) was called home to be with the Lord. "Spontaneous, energetic, inquisitive, kind, strong willed, loved her family, able to express and show love to anyone!" These are only a few of the terms of endearment used by close family members to describe Angela Lynn Harris, but it is her mother who provides the most compelling description of her with the words: "my Angel was complex, but lovely, beautiful inside and out."Īngela was born on June 27, 1977, to Shirley and Tony William Harris at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia. ![]()
